Four Ways to Prep Your Skin for Cooler Weather

All of this gloomy weather lately has me thinking of the cold days ahead, and how I can be proactive about prepping my skin now to prevent dryness. Here are my top four recommendations for getting ahead of dry skin, and setting yourself up for success:


1. Switch your cleanser to a gentle cleanser, like a milk cleanser, to reduce the risk of stripping your skin of its natural oil. Our natural oil is a protective barrier for our skin, so we want to work with it, not against it!

2. Don't skip antioxidant protection layered under sunscreen daily! Sun damage still happens during the colder months, which means damage to our collagen levels and continued risk for hyperpigmentation. I recommend Glow Vitamin C Serum, or if you're sensitive to Vitamin C, Prime Niacinamide Serum.

3. Switch from lighter moisturizers to facial oils for essential fatty acid nutrition for your skin. This lends emollient properties for protection against harsh temperatures.
