Meet Dr. Allyson Brennan, Founder & Clinical Pharmacist
Meet The Founder
Dr. Allyson Brennan
A clinical pharmacist who spent over a decade in hospital practice- and now formulates skincare with the same standard she brought to critical care.

Chemistry, with heart
Allyson Brennan, PharmD, is the founder and formulator of Emogene & Co. She built the brand on a simple conviction: skincare should be judged by what’s actually in it and whether the science holds up, not by the packaging or the marketing budget.
Every formula she makes carries a reason behind each ingredient, the same way she once accounted for every medication at a patient’s bedside.
The Origin
It started with a bottle of vitamin C serum on the bathroom counter
Allyson was a new mother and a working pharmacist when she bought an expensive vitamin C serum — the kind with beautiful packaging and a clinical-sounding name. The next night she flipped the bottle over and read the label. Her pharmacist brain caught it immediately: the vitamin C wasn’t a form she recognized, and the formula was the type already oxidized, and inactive, long before it reached a customer.
That set off a deeper look at the industry. She kept finding the same pattern: money spent on marketing instead of education, ingredients that work better together split across separate products to sell more bottles, and shoppers left with no way to know the difference. So she did what a chemistry mind does — she made her own, calculating the concentration that would actually be effective and safe for skin.
She told no one and used it daily. A few weeks later, friends asked why her skin looked so good. They wanted to try it. Ten months of formulating later, they pushed her to make it real.
The name came easily. Her grandmother was Emogene — a Southern woman who could make a five-course meal from almost nothing and created beauty from whatever she had in front of her. Allyson is Allyson Emogene; her daughter is Parker Emogene. Three generations of women, one name. Emogene & Co. was her way of honoring all of it.
What began as a dining room lined with shelving and syringes — hand-filled bottles at three in the morning, deliveries on the way to the hospital — is now a small-batch operation run out of a 5,000-square-foot facility on a wooded property in Tennessee, three miles from the farm where she and Parker live.
Background
The credentials behind the formulas
Clinical Pharmacist
Over a decade of hospital practice, with a focus in neurocritical care and neurosciences- reading clinical studies and understanding how compounds move through tissue was the daily work.
Doctor of Pharmacy
PharmD from the University of Mississippi, built on undergraduate study in pharmaceutical sciences, biology, chemistry, and psychology.
Founder & Formulator
Founder of Emogene & Co., where she personally develops the small-batch formulas and still runs customer care herself.
“We’re here for your skin’s health. The sale is a side effect of that — not the other way around.”
A brand built like a practice
Allyson set out to build Emogene the way she practiced pharmacy: every order includes a personalized regimen card, every formula has a reason behind each ingredient, and the team will point you to a non-Emogene product if that’s what your skin actually needs.
The guiding idea is to treat skin as what it is — the body’s largest organ — and to care for its health rather than chase trends. Beautiful skin follows from that.
Three generations of women, creating something honest and full of heart — and just getting started.
